WHAT IS PROOFREADING?
Proofreading IS the final look at a project rather than the first or even second pair of eyes. Your content should have been edited, rewritten, and ready to go.
I double-check your book copy to make sure no embarrassing
punctuation, grammatical, and/or spelling errors slip through.
WHAT IT IS NOT
Proofreading is the last stage in the game before a piece of content goes live. I am looking for items that have been missed in previous editorial passes.
This is NOT rewriting or editing where suggesting different words or rewriting sentences improves the content. I don’t correct formatting issues.

From entering every Spelling Bee in school, co-editing her high school newspaper, teaching Language Arts and moderating school spelling bees, authoring and self-publishing two books, and editing/proofreading nonfiction and fiction books and web copy for others, you can tell I love to proofread!
As a wife, mother, grandmother, retired educator, author, podcaster, and proofreader, I want to share my passion and talents for helping others to present their BEST work (books, blogs, or website copy) to the world.
